Instructions

1. Locate a spot in the garage where you'd like to install your 56-inch Rubbermaid Fast Track hang rail. The hang rail is the basic component of the Fast Track garage organizing system, and accommodates hangers, baskets, cabinets and other compatible Rubbermaid components.

2. Open the 56-inch Fast Track hang rail packaging and remove the included components: the hang rail, hang rail cover, one anchor key, nine anchors, and thirteen screws.

3. Locate the studs in the area you'd like to hang the rail. Three studs are required in order to properly anchor the hang rail to the wall. Mark the studs at least 48 inches from the ground with a pencil so that you can hang long items from the hang rail, such as rakes and brooms, after installation.

4. Level the hang rail with the leveler and align the holes in the hang rail with the stud markings. Using your pencil, mark the wall where both the top and bottom holes of the hang rail coincide with the stud markings.

5. Find the two center holes in the hang rail between each stud; mark the top hole with your pencil.

6. Find the stud marking closest to the left end of the hang rail. Mark the top hole to the left of the stud marking.

7. Find the stud marking closest to the right end of the hang rail. Mark the top hole to the right of the stud marking.

8. Drill 1/8-inch holes into both marks on each stud.

9. Drill 3/8-inch holes into all other marks.

10. Insert the provided anchors into each drywall hole. Squeeze the two arms of each anchor together and nail one into each hole, flush to the wall. Using the anchor key provided, push it into each anchor until you hear a popping sound, which ensures that the anchor has been solidly inserted.

11. Mount the rail onto the wall using the screws provided with a screwdriver or screwdriver drill bit.

12. Place the provided plastic rail covering over the top lip of the rail. To install the rail cover, begin on the left side and press downward on the bottom edge of the cover. Continue pressing on the bottom edge, working from left to right, until the entire rail cover is installed. The cover should slide from left to right on the rail if installed properly.

13. Add the desired hooks and other Fast Track components, which are sold separately, onto the rail.
