Hang Wooden Curtain Rods

Just as there are different styles of curtain panels and window treatments, there are various curtain rod materials. Wooden curtain rods are ideal for spaces with rich wood tones already in the room, and styles range from simple to handcrafted to go with any decor. Hanging wooden curtain rods is just as simple as hanging metal rods and takes very little time and materials. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Place the ladder on the left side of the window, so you can install one bracket in the upper left corner of the mirror. Pre-drill the holes as high up on the wall as you want, but make sure the curtains will skim the floor while hung at your desired height.

2. Install the first mounting hardware to the wall. Typically, wooden curtain rods have arm-styled brackets that extend out from the wall so you can place the rod on the bracket and it won’t slide out.

3. Attach a laser level to the bracket so you can have a guideline on where to place the next bracket. Move the ladder to the right side of the window and measure an equal distance up from the window that you did on the other side to ensure the rod will be level. Drill the holes, and install the hardware with a screwdriver.

4. String the curtains onto the rod, and place the rod on the mounting arms. Since the arms curl up in front, the rod will not slip off the brackets. Adjust the curtains as desired once the rod is on the brackets.
