How Make More Use Out Of My Closet

Your closet is a useful storage tool, but without proper maintenance it can become a place you almost dread to enter. If your closet is a disorganized mess, especially if you have limited space, you should dedicate a weekend to making more use out of your closet using organizational tools. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove everything from your closet, including items on the top shelf and bottom floor. Sweep or vacuum the closet and paint the inside with a more inviting color if you wish.

2. Place a horizontal cubby unit with open storage squares on the top shelf so it reaches up the ceiling of the closet. Use every inch of available space to make more use of your closet in an organized manner. Place your folded sweatshirts, scarves and jeans in this storage unit on the top shelf.

3. Place two storage bins on either side of the bottom floor of the closet. You can use this to store off-season clothes. For instance, put sweaters in the bins during the spring time and your swimsuits and tank tops in the bins during the winter.

4. Hang one or two hanging shoe organizers on the rack in the very center of the closet. These shoe racks allow you to insert each pair of shoes into a convenient pocket and take up less space than throwing shoes on the floor.

5. Place your clothes on space-saving cascading hangers that can hold multiple pieces of clothing. The clothes hang downward instead of taking up all of your horizontal space on the closet rack.

6. Hook another hanging shoe organizer to the inside of the closet door. Instead of a hanger hook, this type of shoe organizer has two metal hooks that fit over the top of a standard-sized door and a set of pockets for storing items. Store your scarves, belts and other baubles in the pockets.
