Drawer dividers are useful for maintaining organization and order in drawers. This is especially true for drawers that are used to store small items that have a tendency to get mixed up with other small items. Instead of purchasing expensive drawer dividers to help organize your drawers, learn make drawer dividers out of sturdy cardboard and keep your drawers neatly organized. This is an inexpensive way to help organize your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Draw lines on the cardboard to make dividers that will be slightly lower than the sides of the drawers you want to divide.

2. Measure the diagonal of the inside of the drawer. Cut two strips of cardboard from the lined dividers outlined in step 1 that are this length.

3. Make a slit at the center point of each cardboard divider from one edge to the middle of each divider. For example, if your dividers are three inches high, your slit should be 1 1/2 inches high, or to the center of the divider.

4. Slide the two dividers together at the slits to form a cross.

5. Make as many more dividers that you need for your drawer. These dividers will be of varying lengths as necessary to fit diagonally into the drawer. Decide what size compartments you need, and make slits in the dividers as you did in step 3 at the necessary points for intersecting the dividers in the drawer.
