Have Extra Storage Space In Closets

Reorganize your closet to create more space.

For most people, there can never be enough closet space. When the closets in your home simply don't hold enough stuff, consider reorganizing them and using some organizational tools to create more space. Organizing your closet can also make it much neater and easier to find things in the closet. Creating more space in your closet is simple and just requires a little time, effort and patience. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Take everything out of your closet and place it into piles, such as shirts, pants, dresses, skirts, shoes and other items.

2. Go through your clothing and choose items that you can discard. Place the items in bags and take them to a local homeless shelter or nonprofit that can use them.

3. Organize your clothing into warm-weather items and cold-weather items.

4. If it is currently warm outside, hang your warm weather clothing in the closet. Organize them into sections of pants, dresses, shirts and skirts.

5. Fold your cool-weather items of clothing, because you are not currently wearing them, and place them into plastic storage bins. Place the bins in the bottom of your closet where they will be out of the way.

6. Hang a shoe holder on the wall inside your closet, if you have room, or on the door. Place your shoes into the shoe holder so that they are not cluttering the floor of your closet.

7. Place a shelf over the rod in your closet. Put items on the shelf, such as handbags and plastic bins filled with miscellaneous items.
