Decorate With Pine Garland

Pine is a fast way to bring the outdoors in.

Pine is a popular interior decor item, particularly around the holidays. Depending on your location, pine may be available to you year round, making it an economical and affordable decorating tool. You can either string together your own garland from pine limbs or purchase garlands already assembled. If you make your own, you can control the length and the density; however, buying a garland pre-assembled can save you quite a bit of time. Regardless, decorating with pine garland is simple to do.

Instructions

1. Select a focal point in your room for the garland decoration. In living rooms, mantles, window frames and stair banisters are ideal locations for a garland decoration. In a bedroom or a guest room, bed posts and dressers make excellent focal points. Outside your front door is another location for a large swag of pine garland.

2. Use pieces of florist's wire to anchor one end of your pine garland or simply drape, depending on where you are placing your garland. If you are decorating a banister or column, consider wrapping the garland around the structure from top to bottom. You may need another piece of florist's wire to anchor the finished end as well.

3. Embellish your pine garland depending on the season or event. You can use ribbon, ornaments, dried berries or lights to decorate your garland. If necessary, you can use small pieces of florist's wire to secure each item to the pine garland.
