Murray Select Riding Mower Resale Value

I have a Murray Select 17.5HP 42cut Riding lawn mower. I have NO idea what I should sell this lawnmower for. It is in Excellent condition..no problems at all..has a NEW battery, and OIL is very clear and changed regularly. It starts right up and cuts beautifully. The ONLY problem we ever had out of it was the battery dying, and that was from my husband tying the seat down while transporting it from place to place. It has been wonderful. The body is in very good condition too. Does anyone know what I should sell it for? On Ebay, classifieds, or craigslist? What would be a fair but quick selling price for this mower? Please if anyone has a reply, I am wanting to sell this thing quickly for Christmas money for my 4 children!

Hello taraleighmartin,
I moved your post to its own thread since the other you posted in is old and references a completely different mower.
If you could post a pic it would be easier to guess, but since Murray is no longer in business, that will reduce the value and chances of selling it perhaps. Lots of other things can go into it as well, the area you live in prices may vary different.
Here for your mower in great shape might get $400.00 possibly $500.00 if the right person happened along. Could be a bit less too. Depends on the type of drive it has and any other options.

In VERY good condition (no problems whatsoever, new looking, little wear anywhere), clean, new or sharp blades and freshly serviced, I would expect it to be worth around $500-$600 during mower season. Problem is, few people want a riding mower in the winter time, so you may have trouble selling it for $400.
