Signs You'Re Becoming An Alcoholic

Signs You're Becoming an Alcoholic

According to the Mayo Clinic, alcoholism is a disease that keeps your body dependent on alcohol. Many people are not aware that alcohol consumption has become a problem in their lives. Emotional, physical and psychological signs can help you to tell if you are becoming an alcoholic.

Drinking Alone or Secretly

Drinking alcohol without the company of family or friends or prefering to drink alcohol anonymously in bars or clubs can be a sign of alcoholism.

Hiding Alcohol

Hiding alcohol in places such as in your mattress or in your car can be a sign of alcohol dependence.

Missing Work

Missing substantial amounts of time at work due to hangovers can be a sign you're becoming an alcoholic.

Drinking Ritually

Drinking alcohol systematically and daily is a symptom of alcoholism, especially if interruptions to your drinking rituals make you angry or irritated.

Increasing Alcohol Tolerance

The more alcohol you drink, the more alcohol is required to get and to sustain its effects and influence. Increased tolerance is a sign you're dependent on alcohol.

Drinking Withdrawal

If you experience anxiety, depression, headaches, nausea and shaking without drinking, you may have problems with alcohol.
