Hostels In Breezy Point New York

Hostels offers affordable sleeping arrangements with convenient locations.


Breezy Point is a neighborhood on the western end of Rockaway peninsula in the borough of Queens, New York. It is home to the Gateway National Recreation Area, which includes 200 acres of oceanfront beach, sand dunes managed by the National Park Service. It offers scenic walks all with a view of Manhattan as well as a popular fishing location. Several hostels in the area offer affordable accommodations with modern amenities, all within a short train ride to Breezy Point.


ZIP 112 Hostel


The ZIP 112 Hostel is northwest of Breezy Point in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. It offers two female dormitories (Dorm A and B, each with two bunk beds) and one private guestroom (single-sex or mixed) with two twin beds. Guests receive breakfast (cereal, milk and coffee) and have free access to the kitchen and common room. The property offers two shared bathrooms, two public computers, free wireless-Internet access and a choice of eight lockers (subject to availability). It does not offer laundry facilities but a coin Laundromat is within walking distance. Other amenities include a balcony with a view of Manhattan, a Skype Internet Phone, and AT &T Prepaid Phone Rentals with a daily rental fee and deposit. It is walking distance to the Bedford Avenue Subway (L Train) station. Dining options near the hostel include Sea (Thai restaurant), Oslo Coffee Shop and the Bedford Cheese Shop. Other nearby activities shopping at Beacon's Closet that offers vintage clothing and Boundless NY, which offers books, music and clothing. The hostel offers both nightly short-term rates as well as monthly rates for long-term stays.


Chelsea Hostel


The Chelsea Hostel, the largest independent hostel in New York City, is on the lower West Side in the Chelsea district of Manhattan. First opened in 1993, it offers 350 beds that consist of dormitory rooms that sleep two people with shared- and private-bathrooms. It also includes private double-bed guestrooms with private bathrooms. Guests receive complimentary continental breakfast and access to the kitchen facility, common room with amenities such as wireless-Internet access, security lockers as well as subway and city maps. The hostel is within walking distance of both the 14th Street or 18th Street subway stations and offers direct, airport-shuttle service for an extra charge. The front desk is open 24 hours a day and no curfew exists for guests. Guests must be at least 18 years of age. Within the hostel, it offers a variety of social events including pizza parties, pub crawls, cookouts and other seasonal activities. Activities in the area range from visiting museums (Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim) to local landmarks such as the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Plaza and Central Park. Nightly rates vary by time of year and include all taxes.


Flushing YMCA


The Flushing YMCA is northeast of Breezy Point on Northern Boulevard in Flushing, New York. It offers 128 guestrooms with single, twin and triple occupancy with amenities such as air-conditioning and cable TV. Guests have access to the on-site Wi-Fi cafe, and fitness center that includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms, basketball, pingpong and racquetball courts. The property includes 24-hour security and is within walking distance to the several NYC subway and Long Island Railroad stations. It is also offers easy access to both LaGuardia and JFK airports. Dining options include a choice of more than 50 restaurants within walking distance such as the Sushi Family Express, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, eight Korean restaurants and Hunan House. For nearby activities there are sporting events at Citi Field and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center as well visiting the Queens Botanical Gardens and Flushing Meadows Park.


Lafayette International Hostel


The Lafayette International Hostel is north of Breezy Point in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. The Swiss-managed hostel offers a variety of air-conditioned dormitory-style, double and triple bunk-bed rooms as well as private twin-bed guestrooms. Guests receive a number of complimentary amenities that include public computer access, long-distance telephone calls, wireless Internet, personal locker and use of the kitchen. It also offers on-site coin-operated laundry facilities, 24-hour hot showers and no curfew. The hostel is a half-block from the Bedford-Nostrand "G" train station with easy access to the New York City metropolitan area. Nearby dining options include a variety of restaurants such as LG Gourmet Deli, Roosters Rotisserie Chicken, Hunan Garden and the Black Swan.
