Decorate Your Closet

You see your closet every day -- even multiple times a day. If you have a beautiful decorative closet, you will be more likely to keep it clean and organized. It will be a pleasure to put your clothes and accessories away in an orderly fashion. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove everything from the closet.

2. Evaluate the closet and see if you need to add more shelves or hanging rods.

3. Paint the closet. Choose a paint color that you have always loved but perhaps were not able to use in any other room of the house. It should be a color that makes you feel happy and excited. Try to corrolate a theme along with the color. If your color is Caribbean blue, the theme would be beach. If your color is zen green, the theme could be Asian relaxation.

4. Install any new closet shelves or hooks that you may need. You want to keep items off of the floor, so get some shoe boxes that can be stacked on the shelves. Install hooks for belts, scarves and purses. If there is room, add a small dresser to store accessories.

5. Find the largest wall space and hang some artwork. This should go along with your theme, and it should be something that makes you happy.

6. Change the lightbulbs to be energy-efficient daylight bulbs so that you can see the true colors of the clothes as you select them.

7. Add an area rug if you have the floor space. This again should go along with your theme. It will add both color and comfort to the closet.
