Decorate Bifold Doors

Closet doors don't have to be pieces of wood that hide the clothing inside. Closet doors can be a distinctive way to add flair and personality and become part of any room. When choosing the decor of your room, think of the closet doors as part of the room. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Paint the doors an accent color. Don't leave them a standard color. If you have the room, painting the doors will be easiest if they can be removed. Remove the doors, lay flat and paint, making sure to get the sides of the doors, so that when the doors are open, the color is seen. Apply two coats, let dry and rehang.

2. Cover the doors with fabric. Remove the doors. Cut the fabric to fit the doors. Using a spray adhesive, spray the doors and apply the fabric to doors. Rehang.

3. Apply a mirror to the doors. Use self-stick mirror squares to create space and make a room appear larger. Using mirror squares is an easy way to add a mirror, and can be done quickly without a lot of tools. Make sure to clean the doors to remove any dust, so that mirrors will adhere properly.

4. Hang artwork. Use the doors just as you would a wall. Apply picture-hanging hooks to the door and hang your favorite pictures or piece of art. Picture-hanging hooks can be applied using a hammer if they have a nail, or self-adhesive hooks can be used. Choose the ones that are easiest for your application.
