Attach A Safe To A Closet Organizer

Burglars can take many of your irreplaceable possessions in mere minutes. Despite popular belief, burglars do not need to wait for you to go out of town to come for your valuables. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, 62 percent of all burglaries in residential buildings happen between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Take safety precautions by placing your jewelry and important papers in a safe. By attaching a safe to a closet organizer, you also have easy access to jewelry that you frequently use. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Place all your valuables and documents in a box and measure the box, so you know how big of safe you need to buy. Measure the back of your closet organizer to ensure that you have enough space. Many of the stack-on safes are 30 pounds; therefore, you should make sure that the organizer can support the weight. Write down your measurements to take with you.

2. Purchase a stack-on strong box wall safe with electronic lock. Buy extra batteries to keep on hand for your safe. Make sure that your safe has predrilled holes and comes with attachments.

3. Flip your safe over and measure the space between the predrilled holes. Mark on the back of your closet organizer with a pencil where you need to drill. Drill two holes in the back of the organizer.

4. Use the attachments that come with the safe to secure it to the organizer. Try moving the safe around to ensure that you have a snug fit. Place the items in your safe.

5. Cover the safe with clothes, papers, boxes or fabric. Walk through the closet to make sure the safe is out of view.
