There are several privately-owned airports in addition to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. Baur Airport, Crosswinds Airport and Cones Field are all owned by individuals. Commercial and chartered flights are not permitted to land at the Marine base except in the event of an emergency. You can rent a vehicle to drive to Twentynine Palms, which is reachable in approximately two hours depending on traffic. Head east on Interstate 10 for approximately 62 miles before merging onto CA-62 East, which runs directly into the city.
