Shoe boxes always seem to be around, but, other than stacking them in the closet or throwing them out, what can you really do with them? With just a little bit of effort, you can make them into decorative storage units. Just make sure you are prepared to share the secret with others in your life or they might feel a little left out when you display these stylish boxes. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Cover your workspace with newspaper to limit the mess.
2. Measure and trim your paper/newspaper to fit the outsides of your boxes and their lids. Use spray adhesive to attach the paper to the outsides of your boxes.
3. Water down your paint to make it thinner and more easily spreadable, or just use watercolor paint. Paint the boxes thoroughly and allow them to dry completely.
4. Mix a solution of one half glue and one half water to make a sealant. Completely cover your boxes with the glue mixture and again allow to dry.
