Use An Overthedoor Shoe Organizer To Easily Organize More Than Shoes

Organize art supplies in a hanging shoe rack.

Over-the-door shoe organizers can hang on the interior or exterior of a closet door, providing small compartments for storage. These organizers are useful for arranging your footwear and all sorts of other household items. The neatly arranged compartments provide an easy way to organize anything from cleaning supplies to winter gear. Purchase a shoe organizer that's made from cloth or strong plastic compounds for the most durability. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Hang the shoe organizer over the door of your bathroom and use the individual compartments to store items in an orderly fashion. Roll up spare hand towels and stick them in the pockets. Place spare shampoo bottles, soap bars, toilet paper rolls, tooth paste or other small items in separate pockets so you can easily grab them when the need arises.

2. Use the over-the-door shoe organizer to arrange a collection of hats, gloves, scarves, underwear, socks or other clothing items you can easily roll up or fold to stick in its pockets. If more than one person's items are in the organizer, designate certain rows to each individual. Label the rows with his initials.

3. Organize items in your kitchen by using hanging the storage device over your pantry door. Fill each pocket with packaged snack items like granola bars, small chip bags, nuts or other items. Use the pockets to store cooking tools in an easily accessible place. Devote one pocket to each type of tool, such as measuring cups, peelers, whisks and funnels.

4. Store your cleaning supplies in the shoe organizer, making bottles and containers easier to access than fumbling around a deep cabinet.

5. Sort your mail using the shoe organizer. Use the pockets to store categorized mail such as by family member, type, opened or unopened, urgent bills or any other system that works for your lifestyle.

6. Hang the shoe organizer over the door of a craft room, workshop or garden shed and use the pockets to store hobby-related items, sorted by type. Sort screws, nails, thumbtacks, buttons, sewing supplies, seed packages and small tools into different pockets.
