Directions On Put Together Rubbermaid Storage

Rubbermaid manufacturers a line of storage sheds that are ideal for people who want to store items outdoors, but don't have the time or inclination to build a wooden shed. Rubbermaid sheds come in pieces that snap and slide together, but they're still sturdy enough to last for years while outside. The sheds are water-resistant enough to keep the inside dry in the rain. Since Rubbermaid storage units are made from hard plastic, they can also take quite a beating without becoming damaged. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Push the two base pieces together and place screws through the overlapping sections. Slide the front lip pieces into place against the front of the base and screw them in place as well. You may have to turn the base over to screw the front lip in.

2. Put a side panel over the slot on one of the two sides of the base and push the panel down so it sinks into the slot as far as it can go. Repeat this process with the other side panel, plus the one or two back panels.

3. Insert the four corner channel pieces into the four corners of the base. The channel pieces should slide over the rails at the ends of the side and back panels, essentially locking them into place. If your storage unit has two back pieces, you must slide a special channel piece into place between them.

4. Slide the additional side and back panels down along the channels and push them down so they snap into place atop the previous panel. Add as many panels as the height of your specific unit calls for.

5. Slide a door pole into the hole through the end of one of the door panels. Seat the door pole onto one of the two notches on the front of the storage unit. Push down until the pole completely covers the notch.

6. Mix your detergent with water and brush the solution into the channel that is directly behind the pole you just installed. Place a door hinge piece over the door pole so the back of the door piece fits into the channel you just washed. Push down on the door hinge until it moves all the way down the pole and seats just above the first door panel.

7. Slide the door separator piece into the grooves on the end of the door panel. Push down until the separator touches the base.

8. Slide another door panel between the pole and the door separator piece. Slide another hinge piece between the pole and the channel. Repeat this process for every door panel that your particular shed calls for. Then repeat the whole process, including installing a second door separator piece, for the other swinging door.

9. Apply the detergent solution to the tops of the side and back panels. Place the roof over those panels and push down until the channels in the roof slide over the panels.

10. Pop out the perforated holes in the door panels with your screwdriver. Place the door handles over the holes and open the door. Screw the door handles into place.
