Be creative about storing clothes when you have no closet.
If your home is older, or you live in an apartment, you may not have closets, especially in your bedroom or living room. When you don't have closets, you will obviously have some storage issues. Without closets, it is difficult to store your clothing, shoes and household items. Be creative and come up with a solution for not having closets in your home. Does this Spark an idea?
Under Bed
One way to store items that would otherwise be stored in a closet is to store them in vacuum-sealed bags underneath your bed The bags are useful as the items will not take up much space. There is a zip-seal closure that you can open to access the items when you need them. Seal the bags and then place them under your bed.To cover them, add a bed skirt to your bed.
Clothing Rack
If you do not have a closet in your bedroom, consider using a clothing rack to hang your clothes. They do not take up too much space. Clothing racks are usually just stand-up racks that you can place in any part of the room. They hold a fairly large number of clothing items. You can also use them in any other room in your home that does not have a closet.
Armoire
An armoire is ideal for homes or rooms with no closets. Armoires tend to be large; you will need to have the space available for it. There is generally space to hang up clothing and also shelves for storing shoes and other items. It can effectively take the place of a closet. Also, as the doors close, you can hide the items and not have to have them in full view.
Shelves
Utilize shelving units in your home. If you have no closets, using bins and baskets on shelving units will provide the storage that you need. Use decorative, fabric-lined baskets on wall-mounted shelves to store belts, hats, scarves and other miscellaneous items. Smaller baskets can be used to store undergarments as well.
