Organize Closet Space With Vacuum Hose

A vacuum hose can be difficult to organize and store in a closet.

Closets commonly store fabric items, such as garments, shoes, towels and bed sheets, but they are often used to store other items as well, such as vacuum cleaners and hoses. Some houses have a built-in vacuum system where a hose can simply be plugged into a wall. When the vacuum hose is not in use, you need to store it away in a closet. However, when you store it away in a closet, it needs to be stored or hanged in the closet to prevent it from interfering with the other items in the closet. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Empty your closet completely so that you can organize its contents. You will need to evaluate the entire space in order to determine where the best location is for the vacuum hose.

2. Place the vacuum hose hanger on a side wall in the closet. You do not want to hang it on the back wall, as it will interfere with any items that need to hang on hangers in the closet. Hold the hanger steady while you use the screwdriver and screws to install it on the wall through the installation holes in the hose hanger.

3. Hang the vacuum hose on the hose hanger to see how much space it takes up. Its size and volume will affect how you plan to organize the remainder of the closet. Rather than place the hose around the hanger once, circle it around the hanger several times so that the hose hangs fully on the wall and does not rest on the floor.

4. Categorize your closet items and garments in terms of their location in the closet. For example, put everything that needs to be placed on a hanger in one pile. Put all of the clothes that can be folded in a second pile. Shoes and handbags should go in a third pile.

5. Hang any clothes that need to be hanged on hangers and place them on the curtain rod in the closet. You can organize these items as well, placing pants first, followed by button-down shirts and, lastly, jackets. You should hang these items opposite to the vacuum hose.

6. Fold all of the items in the folded pile, such as shirts, towels and sheets. These items should be placed on shelves in the closet if possible. If not, it is best to store them in a dresser or in a shelving closet.

7. Place small items, such as shoes and handbags, on the floor underneath the vacuum hose. These items can be placed anywhere on the closet floor, as long as they are kept neatly organized. If you prefer a less cluttered closet floor, place them on shelves installed underneath the vacuum hose.
