Ideas For Closet Entries

The louvers found on shutters can help ventilate a closet door.

There are plenty of different closet door options for you to consider. Depending on your bedroom's decor, some types of closet doors will work better than others, and different situations and wardrobes will call for the same. For instance, if you want your closet to be able to air out without leaving it open much of the time, you can choose a louvered closet door. Does this Spark an idea?

Beaded Drapes

Instead of a solid door, try a more bohemian styling with beaded curtains. Use whatever material for the beads as suits your fancy. For example, in a tropical or coastal themed room, use beaded drapes with small shells in place of the beads. If you don't like beads, consider tasseled, hanging cords.

Fabric Doors

Cover your closet doors with a sheet of fabric. Use fabric glue to affix the cloth to the door. Use multiple pieces of cloth in different patterns or colors to create a quilt-like effect. Fold under the edges of the fabric as you attach it to the door so no rough edges are seen. Alternatively, ditch the doors altogether and hang a curtain from the top of your closet entryway. A curtain can make a very convenient door as it can be pushed aside entirely to allow full access to your closet, unlike sliding doors.

Louvered Doors

Louvered doors resemble the slats seen on shutters. These type of closet doors can come in several styles, from swing doors to bifold panels. Louvered doors allow for good ventilation in the closet space, a particularly good thing if you have clothing in your closet that is ever damp.
