Fold A Columbia Bike

Folding bikes are great to bring and store in the office.

Taking your car to work and parking in the city could cost you a lot in parking fees. Consider riding a folding bike, which is more economical, green and far better for your health. A Columbia folding bike can be folded to store in small spaces, or even in your office. Most folding bikes use the same mechanisms to fold for storage.

Instructions

1. Stand to the side of the bike and set the front brake on the front wheel to the open position with your hand. Locate the front brakes and squeeze them with one hand and squeeze the end cap into the cable hook unit.

2. Locate the quick-release lever. The lever is located on the part of the bike that connects to the front wheel. Squeeze to release the lever to remove the wheel.

3. Push down on the seat with your hand to lower it.

4. Open the quick-release lever on the frame. The quick-release lever is located on the frame below the seat.

5. Press and hold down on the quick-release lever with the heel of your hand.

6. Grab the handlebars with your free hand and turn the handlebars away from you.

7. Pull the boom tube towards you to fold the bike. The boom tube is the frame of the bike, or the bar that supports the seat and connects to the wheels. When you pull the boom tube towards you, it folds over the bike onto the remaining wheel.
