Remove The Factory Radio Bezel In A Dodge Srt4

The Dodge Caliber features a five-door hatchback design, four engine configuration options and several customization trim packages. The high-performance SRT-4 package includes a 285-horsepower, dual overhead cam, four-cylinder power plant and Getrag six-speed transmission. Dodge Calibers that featured the SRT-4 treatment also have racing-inspired suspension components, braking systems and several interior and exterior cues that separate the high-performance Calibers from the tamer base models. If you want to upgrade the factory radio for your SRT-4, you need to remove the console bezel first.

Instructions

1. Detach the shifter boot from the center console using a flathead screwdriver or putty knife. Gently pry the shifter boot off the center console by wedging the screwdriver or putty knife in between the sides of the shifter boot and center console. Be careful not to break the two plastic tabs attached to each side of the shifter boot.

2. Pry the bottom sides of the radio bezel up using your putty knife or flathead screwdriver, wedging the tool in between the bezel and center console. Pry both sides of the radio bezel away from the center console, working your way from the bottom up. Use extreme care when you reach the center portion of the bezel, near the radio control dials.

3. Disconnect the wiring plug connected to the bottom control button panel, below the heating and air-conditioning controls. Pull the bezel away from the center console enough to gain access to the bolts that secure the heating and air-conditioning controls to the backside of the bezel.

4. Remove the four bolts that secure the heating and air-conditioning control panel to the bezel using an appropriate size socket tool (two bolts on each side). Lift out the bezel from the center console to complete the process.
