Clean Closetmaid Shoe Hangings

Use shoe organizers to save floor space in the closet.

Shoes are found cluttering up the mudrooms, closets and bedroom floors of homes. One way to keep shoes organized, and out of the mountains of shoe boxes on your closet floor, is through the use of a ClosetMaid shoe organizer. The hanging version is installed over doors and keeps your heels or loafers neatly organized. Keep your shoes and the organizer clean with an annual wipe down that is performed quickly and easily. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove all of the shoes from the hanging organizer. Set them onto the floor to be inspected for any damage or cleaning they also require.

2. Prepare a mixture of 1/4 cup white vinegar and 1/2 gallon warm water in a plastic bucket.

3. Set a towel onto the floor underneath the ClosetMaid hanging shoe organizer. This allows you to clean the organizer without having to remove it from the door.

4. Dip a hand towel in the vinegar mixture. Wring out the towel until it is damp, not soaking wet.

5. Wipe down the entire surface of the hanging shoe organizer, paying attention to all of the nooks and crannies to remove any built-up dirt and dust.

6. Allow the shoe organizer to air dry before reorganizing the shoes.
