Select Clothing Storage Containers
Equipping your closet for proper clothing storage may seem like an unnecessary task. However, proper storage can help prevent damage to your clothing. From shoes to hats and everything in between, storage containers can help make your closet as fashionable as you. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Keep your shoes in top "toe-tapping" shape by storing them in cloth shoe bags. This, in addition to a plastic see-through shoebox, will protect them from dust.
2. Sort out your sock drawer by purchasing a plastic divider tray. You can roll pairs of socks and insert them into each cube, arranging them by color or size to make it easy to find your favorite pair.
3. Select a larger drawer divider storage system for your underwear and lingerie. Bras, panties, boxers and undershirts can all be sorted into easy-to-spot sections, keeping your drawers from becoming jumbled messes.
4. Choose shallow clear plastic bins with lids to store your sweaters, whatever the season. It is best to store your sweaters folded to avoid stretching or distortion.
5. Look for plastic storage bags that can be deflated for storing bulkier items such as ski jackets. The bags should be big enough to accommodate multiple items and will provide water-resistant homes for your cold weather gear out of season.
6. Store select clothing items such as formal attire in cloth garment bags to avoid dust buildup on these special occasion ensembles. Each garment bag should be long enough to accommodate the length of the skirt or pant and should feature a zipper closure for easy access.
7. Select decorative containers such as colorful hat boxes for storing scarves, hats and purses in closets without doors. You can incorporate your overall interior decorating theme when you select colors that coordinate with your bedding or drapes.
8. Apply photos of the clothing items packed within all of your containers to the outside of the bins. This will make it easy to identify what is being stored in each plastic container in your closet or under your bed.
