Install Elfa Shelving

Elfa is a shelving organization system that uses modular shelving and a drawer system to enable users to customize their storage spaces. The system can be used anywhere that requires shelving or space organization, such as the living room, garage, pantry or bedroom. The system's components are made of steel, wood or plastic. Installation of the shelving is quick and easy to modify because of the interchangeable and modular nature of the system. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Tape the page with the custom Elfa design to the wall. This will enable you to easily reference your plan during the installation process.

2. Lay out all of the components of the shelving on the floor in front of the wall. Organize them according to type to easily find the pieces you need.

3. Attach the top track to the wall. The top track has two notches that allow the hanging standards to be inserted. Place the track at the desired height and use a level at the bottom of it to ensure it is straight. Mark the holes in the wall for drilling while the track is level. Remove the track and drill the holes. Put anchors in the wall and place the top track over the holes. Insert the screws into the holes with the power drill.

4. Insert the shelf brackets and install the hanging standards. The hanging standards have a notch cut into the top to allow them to be hanged from the top track. Hang them and group them together. Insert the brackets into the grooves of the hanging standards at the appropriate height. Slide the hanging standards to the required distance according to the shelving plan. Insert the top track covers in between the hanging standards. If necessary, cut the cover with scissors so that it will fit in the space provided.

5. Install the various Elfa components using the shelf brackets. Because the Elfa shelving system is modular, many different components are basically plug and play when installing or changing the system. The necessary means of attachment is located on both the shelf brackets and the different components as needed. Hanging drawers, gliding accessory racks, ventilated shelves, closet rods and solid wood shelves are all easily installed by inserting and securing the components to the shelf bracket.

6. Build the drawer units. These must be built separately before being attached to the system. Place the panels upside down with the runners facing each other. Tap the bottom of the T-crossbars into the open hole at the bottom of each panel with a mallet. Flip the frame over and tap the L-crossbars into the open hole at the top of each panel. Insert the backstop pins and slide in the drawers.
