Kill Moths In Kitchen Cabinets

Moths are common household pests that like to fly onto your clothes, plants and into your food. The best way to prevent moths from coming into your house is to keep all of your rooms clean and your windows sealed so that insects can't come in from outside. However, moths can also travel on clothing, and eggs can sometimes be hiding in grocery store bags. The most common place to find moths is in kitchen cabinets, where they can infest and lay eggs in your food. You can typically find one or two moths flying around the food, but you will also notice a bad odor and sticky substance in the food if moths have gotten into them. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove all of the food from your cabinets. Inspect any products in your cabinets that contain flour, grain or seeds. Throw out any food that has an infestation of moths in it.

2. Clean out all areas of your cabinets using hardwood cleaning spray. Use a fly swatter to kill any moths that you find while going through your cabinets. Make sure to disinfect any areas that were in contact with the moths.

3. Purchase a moth trap from your local hardware store for extreme cases. Some specific traps consist of double-sided tape that you can stick anywhere in your cabinets. The traps also contain grain or seed to attract the moths.

4. Seal any areas around your window where moths may be coming in. For example, if there is a hole in your window screen, you could simply keep your window closed or cover the area with tape.

5. Place your grain food products in airtight containers. Make sure the moths have no way to get to the food. Consider freezing your grain food products if the problem persists.
