Wagner 355 electronic pro duty power painter

Wagner 355 Electronic Pro Duty Power Painter

Purchased a reconditioned unit 6 months ago and put it on the shelf. 90 day warrenty obviously expired while it sat. Tried the unit yesterday after reading all the info and instructions. Worked fine for about 5 minutes after all the priming, prepping and loading. Put in second load of paint and the unit just sputters and throws blotched paint. Seems to have lost its ability to generate any pressure. I had oiled the piston as instructed. Using latex paint and the wide angle latex tip. The only possible problem I can think of would be the piston needs replacing? Not familiar with these critters. I contacted the company I purchased it from and was told the warrenty had expired! Grrrrrr!! Any thoughts or ideas from those familiar with Wagner would be appreciated. I do have an upright compressor and all the necessary equipment to do the job but liked the idea of the Wagner without 100 foot of air hose! Thanks for any ideas! Robert Did you check the screen at the spray tip and the tip itself? Also, did you strain the paint? Strained the paint, have three different tips, tried them all. I don't find any screen in the tips! What about the suction tube filter? Could it have lost its prime when you had to refill paint? The gun will spit product which indicates the paint is reaching the tip. Just no pressure. I cleaned entire sprayer. oiled as instructed and filled with soapy water to clean up and the water does the same thing. No spray just drops. Hard to believe the piston wore out in one quart of paint! We had the same problem with a new unit. Took it back, and they told up to thin the paint slightly. We did it and it worked like a charm. While they advertise the unit will spray latex it would do nothing until I thinned a gallon with one pint of water as the paint manufacturer suggested. Unfortunately, it will now not even spray soapy water which is pretty thin. I have ordered a new piston and hopefully that will solve the problem. Appreciate the ideas.
