Cook A Hot Dog In A Toaster Oven

Cook hot dogs in a toaster oven for a quick meal.

Toaster ovens heat food quickly and create a crispy texture that microwaves cannot provide. The small countertop ovens can prepare a large variety of foods by reheating, baking, broiling, toasting and defrosting. The toaster oven has controls that allow you to adjust the heating elements. Instead of boiling or grilling hot dogs, you can place them in the toaster oven to heat them. The hot dogs will not take long to heat, and you can keep them warm in the toaster oven while you prepare the rest of your meal.

Instructions

1. Line the toaster oven tray with aluminum foil. This will prevent the hot dogs from creating a mess.

2. Score the hot dogs with 3 to 4 small diagonal cuts that are 1/4-inch deep. This will allow the hot dogs to cook consistently.

3. Set the toaster oven to 350 degrees F. Allow the toaster oven to heat up before you cook the hot dogs.

4. Place the hot dogs on the foil-lined tray. Allow the hot dogs to cook for four to five minutes, and then flip them over with tongs. Let them cook for another four to five minutes until they are heated thoroughly.

5. Remove the hot dogs from the toaster oven. You also can turn the heat off and set the toaster oven to keep the hot dogs warm.

Tips Warnings

You also can toast the buns in the toaster oven with the hot dogs.

Avoid cooking the hot dogs for too long in the toaster oven because they will begin to split.
