Walk In Pantry Storage Ideas

There are many ways to organize a walk-in pantry.

Walk-in pantries are an immense convenience. They provide plenty of room to store both dry goods and kitchen tools and appliances that you don't want to fit in your cabinets and on your counter tops. With all this space, though, comes the potential to create an unorganized, unmanageable mess. Specialized storage solutions can solve this problem. Does this Spark an idea?

Pull Outs

Pull-outs are basically a hybrid between drawers and shelves. They are relatively shallow pull out shelves. Having pull outs installed in your closet enables you to easily reach the back of deeper shelves, ensuring that things won't get lost. They are more convenient than drawers since the front typically does not completely enclose the contents of the pull out, so that you can see what's inside before you pull it out.

Repackage Items

Place kitchen staples such as flour, rice and noodles in clear glass or plastic canisters. This is helpful for a couple of reasons. First, since the canisters are clear, you can see exactly how much of the item you have left, leading to less surprises and quick trips to the grocery store to replace nearly empty items. Second, the canisters will fit in a standardized manner, allowing you to better utilize the space in your walk-in pantry. Third, the items will be easier to retrieve at a glance.

Door-mounted Storage

If you are out of room in your pantry or have too many items crammed onto your shelves, mount wire shelving on the back of your pantry door. Smaller, lighter items that might otherwise get lost can be stored on the wire shelving, items such as spice jars, pudding, gelatin boxes or condiments.
