Open air cabinets
There are places that we may move into that are very small and don't have any cabinet space, or closets. There are ways to work around this. Shelving open air cabinets, are the way to go. You use existing wall space and create wonderful eye candy in the kitchen behind the table and above the sink. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. First, measure and get your boards cut specifically at the hardware store. Get brackets to screw in the wall and over the sink to lay your cabinet boards on. If you want to make them stationary, glue the boards to the under brackets and they will not move!
2. Now, paint your open air cabinets the same color as the walls so they will look built in. Let them dry thoroughly before you do anything else to the shelves. After they are dry, add adhesive lace to the front edges of the open air cabinet shelves. This gives a warm homey feel to the area. They then look like they are specifically for dishes!
3. Next, Put all your matching plates and glasses all together on the shelves in stacks of each. Screw in the hooks in the underside of one board to hang all the mugs on. Put pretty large serving bowls in display spots in between all the dishes and glasses. Put a couple very small drawer units on a shelf to put utensils in, separated.
