Organize a Baby Nursery
Preparing for a baby is a big job. The anticipation is exciting, and it seems like your new arrival will never get here. But once that baby comes home, reality sets in. This transition for your new family will be easier if everything is organized, especially the nursery. Your home might be full of exciting chaos, but at least the nursery isn't chaotic too.
Instructions
1. Create storage space. Find furniture with plenty of drawers, add bookshelves in the room and find a closet organizer. Your baby will have a lot of necessities, requiring a lot of storage.
2. Look up for storage. Adding shelves and racks to the walls can give you storage space that you might have overlooked.
3. Be creative with storage items. For example, a hanging shoe bag can be great to store all sorts of small items.
4. Let your baby's closet be his closet. If you have any clothes or items stored in your baby's closet, now is the time to find a new place to store them.
5. Place like items together. All the supplies you need to change your child's diaper should be in one area, as well as clothes and bath supplies.
6. Use baskets. These are great storage ideas for toys, books and just about anything else you can think of. They also fit great on shelves and they add a nice decorative touch.
7. Designate a place to store toys. Some people prefer a large toy box, while other people like to use clear plastic bins. As your child grows, she'll have more and more toys. Now is the time to decide where those toys should be stored.
8. Leave room to grow. As your child gets older, his clothes will take up more room, as will his toys and everything else he has. Leave some drawers and shelves empty so it won't be a stressful transition when you're out of room again. And you might want to designate an area where you can put clothes and toys that your child has outgrown. This will happen quickly and often.
