Stormwind is the home faction of the human race in the "World of Warcraft" online game. By reaching a reputation level of exalted with Stormwind, you will obtain several benefits, including a discounted price for any items sold by vendors belonging to this faction and, if your character belongs to a different race, the ability to purchase horse mounts of various colors.
Completing Quests
Complete quests obtained from quest givers associated with the Stormwind faction to increase your reputation. Most of these quests can be found in the Elwynn Forest, Westfall, Redridge Mountains and Duskwood areas; you may also be able to find a small amount of quests in other areas, such Arathi Highlands, Dustwallow Marsh, Southern Barrens or Northern Stranglethorn Vale.
Running Dungeons
Once you have reached a reputation level of at least friendly, purchase a Stormwind Tabard from Captain Lancy Revshon, found in Stormwind City next to the flight master. When running dungeons with the tabard equipped, you will gain Stormwind reputation for every enemy you kill. This applies to all dungeons except those added in the "Burning Crusade" expansion.
Purchasing Commendations
Obtain Champion's Writs from certain daily quests in the Argent Tournament event to purchase Stormwind Commendation Badges at a price of one writ each. Obtain Marks of the World Tree from daily quests in Mount Hyjal to purchase Stormwind Writs of Commendation at a price of 30 marks each. Both of these items, when used, will increase your Stormwind reputation by 250.
Benefits
Reaching exalted reputation with Stormwind allows you to benefit from the maximum discount available for items sold by vendors belonging to this faction. Additionally, you may purchase three different cloaks from Captain Lancy Revshon. Although these cloaks are useless for high-level characters, they are quite good for characters who have just reached level 35, the level necessary to equip them. If you have participated in the Argent Tournament event long enough to gain the right to represent Stormwind, your character will gain the title "of Stormwind." Lastly, characters belonging to other races must reach exalted reputation to be able to purchase horse mounts.
