Put Hangers In A Clothes Closet

Organized hangers make for an easily accessible closet space.

Hangers come in many varieties, from wire hangers to padded coat hangers to hangers with plastic clips, but they all essentially work the same way. Putting hangers in a clothes closet is a housekeeping chore easy enough for anyone to perform. Keep a few extra hangers on hand for new clothes purchases, and store additional hangers in out-of-the-way closet space. Organized hangers are a central part of neat and tidy closets. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

For Easy Access

1. Clear out a space on your closet's hanging rod. Push any clothes that are already hanging to the back or front of the closet, depending on where you plan to keep your hangers.

2. Hold the hanger by its base, not its hook.

3. Place the hook of the hanger over the hanging rod. Keep hangers toward the front of the closet if you plan on using them soon, or toward the rear of the closet if you won't use them often.

4. Place each hanger on the rod with its hook facing inward. This unifies the look of your closet and makes the hangers easier to retrieve.

For Storage

5. Create stacks of hangers by placing groups of hangers on top of one another. Make sure the hangers are all facing the same way.

6. Tie the stacks of hangers together with twist ties, yarn or twine.

7. Place the stacks of hangers in the closet for storage. Put the hangers on bottom shelves for easy access, or keep them on the harder-to-reach top shelf for long-term storage.
