Storage Considerations
When you pack the contents of your apartment and move them into a storage unit, make sure that you sufficiently protect everything. For example, place boxes that contain heavier items on the bottom, underneath lighter boxes. Also, use sturdy boxes that are not damp. Be careful if you get used boxes from a store. These boxes may be too worn or still damp from items, such as produce, that were transported inside them. Throw out items you know you won't use again, instead of wasting needed storage space on them.
