Honeywell Safe Instructions

Use a mild cleaner to clean the inside of a Honeywell safe.

A Honeywell safe installed in your home can protect important items and documents from theft, fire and water. Honeywell units are accessible by key, keypad or a combination of both. Honeywell safes are installed in the wall, bolted to the ground or sit freely on the ground. They come in a range of sizes, from under 1 foot to over 5 feet in height. Once the safe is installed in your home or office, learn to set up a pass code and operate the unit. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Enter the factory-preset pass code printed in the manual to open the safe for the first time. A green indicator light illuminates and the door clicks open. Within the next five seconds, pull the door open by the handle. A red indicator light illuminates if the pass code is entered incorrectly. If the pass code is entered incorrectly three times in a row, the safe automatically locks you out for 20 seconds. More incorrect pass code attempts result in a longer lockout period.

2. Push the red memory button on the inside of the door to program your personal pass code. The keypad emits a sound and a yellow indicator light illuminates. Enter a new pass code between three to eight numbers long into the keypad. Push the "B" button. The keypad emits a sound and the yellow indicator light illuminates to signal that the new pass code is saved.

3. Push the handle down into the locked position with the door still open to test the new pass code. Allow a few seconds for the door to automatically lock. Enter the new pass code into the keypad and push the "A" button. The lock opens with an audible click. Pull up on the handle to open the lock.

4. Move the key lock cover beneath the keypad to the side to open the safe with one of the supplied override keys. The key allows you to bypass the pass code in case you forget the code or the keypad batteries die. Insert the key into the lock and twist it counterclockwise. Pull up on the handle and pull the door open.

5. Open the safe door using the key or pass code to gain access to the battery chamber, if the keypad batteries require changing. Push the battery chamber cover off by applying pressure with your fingers and sliding it in the direction of the printed arrow. Remove the old batteries, dispose of them properly and install four new AA batteries. Replace the cover and test the pass code before shutting the door.

6. Insert items into the safe, keeping them clear of the door. Close the door and bring the handle up to a locked position.
