Closet Scents

Create your own inviting scents.

Adding scents to your closet is an easy way to prevent musty smells in your clothing. A pleasing scent on your clothes is a great way to put you in a good mood and start the day off right! Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Clean out your closet. Your scents will circulate through your closet more effectively if there is plenty of air space. Clean out any unnecessary items.

2. Tuck dryer sheets into a few items of clothing or poke a clothes hanger through a few. The dryer sheet scent will permeate the closet and may also keep insects at bay.

3. Cut an old pair of pantyhose in half. Fill up the feet sections with your favorite potpourri and tie at the top. Poke a clothes hanger through the top of the stocking to hang the sachets.

4. If you don't have any potpourri handy to put into old stockings, try using bits of scented candles. After burning a candle down as far as it can go, save the wax pieces to use as delicious closet scents.

5. Dip cotton balls into the essential oil of your choice. Place the cotton balls on a shelf, making sure to not let them touch your clothing to avoid oil stains.
