Install Rubbermaid Sliding Pants Rack

Installing a sliding pants rack ends the need for using a bunch of pant hangers.

Keeping your closets tidy and organized can be a tedious task. If you have grown tired of flipping through tons of shirts, dresses and sweaters to find a pair of wrinkled pants, a sliding pants rack is the solution.

Rubbermaid makes closet-organizing pieces, including a sliding pants rack. The pants rack is designed as an add-on piece for the organizing system. Installing this pants rack can help put an end to wrinkled pants while keeping them organized and visible. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Separate all the hardware included with the pants rack. Locate the two brackets, which have one wide end with "legs" that stick out and a narrow end.

2. Slide the narrow end of the brackets, one at a time, into the two outside left and right frame arms. The narrow end of the bracket slides into a tab that sticks out from the side.

3. Secure the bracket to the frame using one screw and washer per bracket. Slide a washer onto the screw and place the screw in the hole on the inside of the frame arm; attach the screw from the inside of the frame through to the bracket. Don't tighten completely. Repeat for the other side.

4. Place the "legs" of the bracket into the slot holes on the upright columns mounted on your closet wall. Choose slots at a height you desire and make sure both brackets are lined up.

5. Press downward on the brackets to lock them in the slots. If you're brackets don't align with the column holes on one side, loosen the screw, adjust the bracket, and tighten the screw again.

6. Tighten both screws until they are snug. Don't overtighten the screws.
