Home & Office Organizing Products

Organization makes task completion more efficient -- at home and in the office.

The old expression "a place for everything and everything in its place" can be easier said than done if you don't have the right products to get organized. There's a product out there to help you organize rooms and tasks so you can make your life less cluttered and more productive. Take on organizing one room or area at a time so you won't get overwhelmed and quit. As you complete organizing one area, you will know what to use and get inspired to tackle more. Does this Spark an idea?

Closet Organizing

As simple as they are, hangers are important to closet organization. Stick with black or white hangers to keep the closet looking neat. Colored hangers will be harder to match when you need new ones. Use canvas organizers for sweaters to take advantage of vertical space. Get shoe shelves and place them under shorter items like skirts or shirts. This will maximize floor space in your closet and keep shoes neat and tidy at the same time.

Office Desk Supplies

Use cubes and boxes to store office supplies like pens, paper clips, post-it notes, and staples. Find decorative items that will add color to your office. You can even repurpose kitchen cutlery trays and use them for office supplies and inexpensive plastic food storage containers from a bargain store to hold back-up supplies of pens and other items.

Documents and Files

Get several plastic or cloth covered file bins to keep papers organized and out of public view on your desktop. Look for horizontal products to hold things you use frequently, and vertical products for less frequently used papers and files. Flash drives are excellent for storing large files. A paper or retractable file sorter will also make organizing documents and files an easier task to complete.

Spice Organizers

A multiple tier, lazy Susan spice bottle holder can store up to a dozen or more spice jars so a cook can find what he needs when he needs it. Other options include drawer inserts or racks that attach to the inside of cabinet doors. These products keep each bottle visible, with nothing behind it, eliminating the need to shift behind rows of bottles to get to just the right spice jar.

Media Storage Stools

Many families are short on space but long on collections of DVDs, CDs, games, remote controls and other devices. Media storage stools are a handsome solution to organize entertainment items. They are carried at most furniture stores and in some electronics stores. The stools serve double-duty as a functional storage unit, by hiding media paraphernalia inside a compartment underneath the flip-top of the stool and provide extra seating when guests drop by to watch a movie or play games.

Tool Pegboard Organizer

Keep tools organized in the garage with a pegboard system. You can easily make them in an hour or so as a DIY project. Get the pegboard at a home improvement store, cut to your specifications. Then purchase a kit with a variety of hooks in different lengths and shapes. Attach the pegboard to a garage wall and push the hooks into place to hang your tools and set up a system that keeps everything orderly and easy to access.
