What Are Luxury Height Cabinets

Luxury cabinets are more expensive because they are often roomier.

Luxury height cabinets are taller and more suited to the room they are being designed for than ordinary, standard size versions. Depending on their overall shape and design, they can be used in any room in the home but are more often found in bedrooms, study spaces or offices and lounge areas where books, files and televisions are located. Does this Spark an idea?

Size

The most important difference between a luxury height cabinet and a standard unit is their size in relation to the ceiling. Luxury height can often mean, quite simply, bigger or taller, which gives more room to keep extra objects. A bedroom cabinet built to a luxury specification will have extra space for robes and towels and bedding, which may or may not be on show. A tall cabinet can be incorporated into an existing bedroom suite of wardrobes to add extra convenience and space for storage or display. Typical luxury office cabinets are 216 cm tall, according to manufacturer Trendy Products.

Fit and Location

Some luxury cabinets reach the ceiling of the room they are designed for or fit exactly into alcoves and corners, making them "bespoke" and tailored to their location and environment. These can be expensive to have made unless you find one already suited to your space and location within the home. If a craftsman has to design and create a new cabinet especially for you, expect to pay extra for the workmanship and effort of making the cabinet.

Internal Layout

Different luxury height cabinets are made with different internal layouts. An office cabinet can have two cupboard sections and an open central space for storing books or files or a computer monitor. Some luxury height cabinets have shelves incorporated into their design, rotating panels or even sliding doors. Glass can be introduced into the design, if requested, for additional fees, which adds to the overall appearance and sense of luxury.

Finish

A true luxury cabinet is made of solid wood, such as oak, cedar, pine or mahogany. Cleverly constructed laminate designs maintain the luxury feel but are cheaper to create and therefore to purchase. Both styles of solid or laminated wood can be made in a variety of sizes, shapes and styles to match existing furniture and home decor.

Luxury Height Kitchen Cabinets

Luxury heights of kitchen cabinets represent a slightly different area of design and functionality. A standard kitchen cabinet with a work surface does not reach the ceiling at all but comes up to 54 inches from the ground to approximately waist height, according to Hammer Zone.. Kitchen cabinets with a luxury, or extended height, would be larger and taller than this standard measurement. Some have finished heights of up to 96 inches and are considered "customized."
