Door Track Installation

Hide a messy closet with bifold closet doors.


Bifold closet doors take up less space than a typical closet door. With just a quick motion, these doors slide into place and help you to hide a messy closet. Bifold closet doors are installed on a track. The track allows the doors to slide back and forth to open and close. Installing the door track is an essential part of installing bifold closet doors. Instructions


1. Measure the closet opening with a measuring tape.


2. Transfer the measurements for the closet opening to the door track length. Cut the track to size with a hacksaw.


3. Slip the door hanging hardware into the door track. This is important because you may not be able to get the hardware in place once the track is installed. Place the small stops into the center of the track. Just outside the stops, place the track hangers. Finally, slide the pivot socket into the track.


4. Lift the track into place at the top of the closet doorway opening. Have a friend help you hold the track in place while you secure it. The track should be placed approximately one inch from the front of the front edge of the doorway. Screw the track to the top of the closet with the included screws and a screwdriver.


5. Position the bottom brackets for the door track on the floor per manufacturer directions. Screw the brackets in place with a screwdriver and screws.


6. Assemble the closet doors per manufacturer directions, and hang them on the door track.
