Fully Restore An Ipod

Perform a factory restore to your iPod to resolve any operating errors or problems associated with the player's software. Use the iTunes software to perform the restore to your iPod. When you fully restore your iPod to factory settings, the procedure erases any music or data files stored on your iPod's hard drive, so make sure you are using the computer that is synced to the iPod so you can put music back onto it once the process is finished.

Instructions

1. Connect the iPod to an open port on your computer using the USB cable. ITunes appears once the connection to the iPod is established.

2. Click the "iPod" entry under "Devices" in the left panel of the iTunes window.

3. Click the "Summary" tab at the top of the main iTunes window, and click the "Restore" button to perform a full restore to the iPod. Keep your iPod plugged into the computer for the duration of the restore process, or else you run the risk of damaging the iPod's software.
