Organize A Baby'S Closet

Babies come with more accessories than a Fifth Avenue socialite, and storing their stuff presents a challenge for even the most organized parent. Since baby clothes don't take up much space, the closet in the baby's room can be organized to use every bit of space to keep clutter out of the room and behind closed doors. Even a small closet can hold everything your baby needs if you know maximize the space. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Pull everything out of the closet so you have a blank canvas.

2. Divide the closet in two. Mount two hanging rods on one side of the closet, allowing about 3 feet between them. Mount shelves on the other side of the closet, as well as over the hanging rods to use all of the vertical space.

3. Leave enough room beneath the shelves for the cube storage system. Assemble the system and put it in the closet. Anchor it to the wall so it cannot fall onto the baby.

4. Fold any clothes that are either too big or the wrong season. Put them in the storage totes and label them with size and season information. Store these on the top shelves.

5. Divide the remaining clothes by type. Hang items, if needed. Label one canvas drawer for each of the following categories--socks, pajamas, bodysuits, bottoms, outfits, bibs and burp cloths, shoes, blankets and diapers.

6. Fold clothes and place in the appropriate drawer. For sets, fold the matching bottoms around the top to keep the outfits together, and place them in the drawer labeled outfits.

7. Hang the over-the-door organizer. Use the pockets to store wipes, diaper ointment, suction bulb, lotion, hairbrush and accessories and other small items. It is also the perfect size to store pairs of shoes together.

8. Place toys in the basket and store beneath the lower hanging rod.
