Remove Odors From Wood Inside Cupboards

Deodorize wood cabinets with baking soda.


Just like any other enclosed area of the home, wood cupboards can often develop an unpleasant odor that is difficult to remove. No matter what the cause of the odor, you want to use something that safely removes the odor without causing damage to the cupboards. By using a few household products, you can clean plus deodorize the cabinets, and a disinfectant kills any bacteria that may be causing the odor. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Fill a spray bottle with equal parts water and white vinegar. The vinegar is a natural disinfectant as well as deodorizer.


2. Spray the solution over the cabinets and wipe off with a clean rag.


3. Keep the cabinets open for about an hour or so, giving the wood time to air dry.


4. Fill several bowls with about 1 cup each of baking soda. Place one bowl inside each cabinet and replace the baking soda every week or so to keep the odor absorbency power strong.


5. Open the cabinets every week or so and allow them to air out overnight. This reduces odor and allows for a minimal amount of ventilation that reduces odor development.
