Import a RAID 5 "Foreign Disk" array in Windows Server 2008 in order to open the volume.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 operating system includes a software RAID feature that supports fault tolerant RAID 5 (Redundant Array of Independent Disks). Software RAID 5 in Windows Server 2008 is a dynamic disk configuration that can protect data stored on the array in the event that a single disk fails. In the event of a critical server hardware failure, Windows Server 2008 software RAID 5 array can be moved to another Windows Server 2008 computer in order to access information on the array. Transfer and open a RAID 5 volume on a second Windows Server 2008 computer to access information when the original Windows Server 2008 computer hardware has failed.
