Decorate A Bonus Room With A Sloped Ceiling

Decorate a Bonus Room With a Sloped Ceiling

Rooms that have sloped ceilings can sometimes be a challenge to decorate. However, with a little thought and some planning, you can make it the perfect room for whatever you want to use it for, whether a bedroom, game room or craft room. One way to add purposeful decoration to a room with a sloped ceiling is to add simple shelving. The shelves provide space to add more decorations to an otherwise unusable area of the room. You can either paint or stain the shelves to match the d cor of the room. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Tape off the edges of the sloped ceiling so that you can paint it without getting paint on the non-sloped portion of the ceiling. Paint the ceiling the same color as you paint the walls of the room. Add geometric decorations, such as circles or squares of varying sizes in contrasting paint.

2. Put up some shelving along the wall under the sloped ceiling. Measure the wall space to see how many shelves you can put up and how long they can be. Purchase the number and length of pine boards necessary.

3. Hang curtains hung from a long pole to span the length of the shelves or to make a private little section of the room. Use a fabric for your curtains that coordinates with the colors of the rest of the room.

4. Arrange a little reading nook, especially if there is a window by the sloped ceiling. Set up a rocking chair and place a basket or a small bookshelf next to the chair for books. Add a reading lamp if there is no window and this area tends to be dark.

5. Place a bed underneath the slope in the ceiling. Situate the bed so that the head is directly underneath the sloping part.
