Turn A Small Closet Into Craft Storage

Convert your small, unused closet into effective storage space for your craft supplies.

A small closet is an ideal place to store your craft items. Often, these small closet spaces are not used efficiently and can be converted into a functional space for organizing all of your crafting supplies. The addition of shelving and clear plastic craft organizer boxes will create an effective storage system that will be quick and easy to use and keep organized. Depending on the space, you may decide to place a small crafting desk in the closet to use it as a crafting nook in addition to a storage space. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Run the stud finder across the back wall and locate two studs that are around 32 inches apart. Mark the location of the two studs with a pencil.

2. Align one shelf-mounting strip along each marked stud. The length of the strip should run vertically, parallel to the stud. Fasten the two mounting strips to their respective studs with the provided screws. Drive the screws through the mounting holes in the mounting strips with a screw gun.

3. Position the four shelves at evenly spaced slots along the mounting strips. Pivot the tabs on the back side of the shelves into the slots on the mounting strips and lower each shelf into place.

4. Organize your craft supplies into the plastic craft boxes. Write the contents of each box onto a label with a felt-tip marker and place it onto the front end of each box.

5. Arrange the boxes onto the wire shelves. Adjust the position of the shelves along the mounting strip as needed to accommodate the arrangement of the boxes.

6. Center the cork board onto the inside of the closet door. Drive the provided screws through the mounting holes and into the door with a screw gun.
