Super Luxury Cruises

You can splurge on a luxury cruise for personalized attention and impeccable service.

For those of you that enjoy the finer things in life, or are looking for that once-in-a-lifetime luxury trip to splurge on, take a cruise on a luxury cruise ship. We're not talking about those huge cruise ships packed with people and crammed with amenities; a luxury cruise takes sailing the seas to another level of pleasure with its impeccable service, smaller boats and classy amenities.

Silver Spirit

The Silversea Cruise Line is known for its intimate, luxury cruising experience with high-quality butler service. The 540-passenger Silver Spirit debuted in 2010 and features the Stars Supper Club, an 8,300 square-foot spa and four restaurants. All accommodations are suites, and nearly all have balconies. Luxury services include champagne upon arrival, butler service, fresh flowers, turn-down services, personalized stationery, and a selection of pillows. Your personal butler will handle any request you have, whether you would like a hot bath prepared for you or need dinner reservations made. Dining options include the Art Deco-style Stars Supper Club, which features live jazz and a dance floor, and Seishin Restuarant, serving Asian fusion cuisine. The spa has a Thermal Suite and a Hammam, or Turkish Bath. On-board activities and entertainment include wine tasting, dance classes and nightly shows in the ship's theater.

Crystal Serenity

Crystal Cruises combines the amenities of larger ships with the intimate surroundings of a luxury cruise. The Crystal Serenity ship holds 1,072 passengers and showcases all-outside cabins. White-gloved stewards cater to each guest's every need, whether ordering a drink or unpacking luggage. All beds have Egyptian cotton sheets and duvets. Guests can dine on-board at Silk Road, which features cuisine designed by celebrity Chef Nobu Matsuhisa--as of 2010--and Prego, which specializes in northern Italian dishes. Activities include instruction at the Creative Learning Institute, where guest can take courses in cooking, foreign languages, art and wine tasting. Computer University at Sea offers computer enrichment courses. You can dance the night away at the on-board dance club Luxe or enjoy the music at the Crystal Cove Piano Bar. Crystal Cruises also regularly presents such celebrity entertainers as Regis Philbin and Dorothy Hamill.

Seabourn Sojourn

The Yachts of Seabourn offers the ultimate in small ship luxury cruising, and won the 2010 Conde Naste Readers Choice Award for best small ship cruise line. The Seabourn Sojourn debuted in 2010 and features 224 all-suite luxury accommodations. All suites have an ocean view, most with private verandas and walk-in closets. Seabourn Sojourn offers impressive personalized service, with butlers that go out of their way to anticipate your needs. They will even arrange personalized shore excursions. Activities include cooking lessons, shuffleboard, lounging by the pool and movies under the stars. Butlers are always nearby, offering you food and drink. 2010 dining options on board include the main dining room with cuisine designed by celebrity chef Charlie Palmer, and The Collonade, where guests can watch their meals being made in an open kitchen.
