Make Money On Ebay Selling Men'S Neckties

Selling men's neckties might be one way to earn a little extra cash.

Whether you have a full-fledged eBay business or just sell online occasionally as a hobby, finding a few small selling niches might be profitable. Men's neckties are one item that you can easily find and hopefully sell on eBay to make some extra money.

Instructions

1. Open up an eBay selling account if you don't already have one. Go to eBay.com and click on the "Sell" link at the top, right-hand side of the Home page. Click on the "Quick Start Step 1" link at the right-hand side of the page to begin the process of registering for an eBay seller's account. Follow the steps to open your account and list your item(s) for sale.

2. Do your research. Obviously, you'd make the most money if you found and sold neckties by high-end designers. While this is possible, it won't happen often, so familiarize yourself with quality brands of neckties that are readily available. Browse the Internet or the local high-end department store to see what brands are selling and for how much.

3. Check your closet. Ties that are in good condition that you no longer want or need could possibly be resold. Group several into a lot and sell them that way. Ties from designers that were originally expensive could be resold individually. Either way, offer your ties at a lower price than what you found when you researched brands and pricing.

4. Search thrift stores and yard sales for men's neckties that you can sell on eBay. Make sure the ties that you find are in good condition and without stains. Having to add a few dollars for dry-cleaning will cut in on your profits, so don't waste your time purchasing shoddy product. Take the ties over to the thrift store's window to easily spot potential problems.

5. Look for novelty or collectible themed neckties, as well as name brands. There are collectors for everything, so look for pet breeds, advertising ties and just the unusual. Holiday-themed neckties are another popular item that is in demand by collectors and businessmen with a great sense of humor.

6. Follow the trends: skinny, wool, plaid vintage neckties -- take a look at what trendy folks are wearing. Television is great for this research, and take into consideration people looking for costume ties, as well.

7. Take great photos of your neckties when you're ready to list them on eBay. One photo should show the tie in its entirety; upload another photo showing the tie's pattern close up; provide a photo of the necktie's label for any designer brands that you are selling; also make sure to include measurements of the tie.

8. Fill and ship your necktie orders promptly, using packaging that will safeguard the necktie during shipment. Remember, your success on selling neckties on eBay is driven by your customer reviews. Make certain you do everything possible to get 100 percent positive feedback from your customers.
