Closet Organizing
Messy, disorganized closets can tack on time to your morning routine. In addition, clothing can become ruined when left on the floor and stepped on. For many, closet organizing can be overwhelming when tackling it without a plan of action. Fortunately, there are websites that help you organize a plan of action using your computer. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Go through your closet and make piles of everything that you want to keep, what needs to go to the dry cleaners and what you want to give away. Throw away articles of clothing that hold no sentimental value and that you haven't worn in over a year. Locate your nearest charity that accepts used clothing online, or place items you wish to sell on an online auctioning website, such as like eBay.
2. Catalog every item you own to create a book of your clothing. Either put on each item and then photograph yourself, or lay each garment against a white backdrop or place on hangers one at a time and photograph them with a digital camera.
3. Upload your photographs by creating an account on Phixr, a photo uploading and editing website (see resources) and make any adjustments using the online graphic design program. Remove any shadows to make the photograph clear.
4. Save the photographs onto your computer under a graphic design file, such as a pdf.
5. Create an account on Closet Couture, a website that allows you to upload pictures of each item and accessory in your wardrobe and organize them. You can create outfits, get an entire overview of your wardrobe and chat with other members on their discussion board about fashion.
6. Organize your closet by using the outfits that you created on Closet Couture. Clothes that work well together can be hung in designated locations to give you quick access. Place your shoes underneath proposed outfits for a variety of options.
7. Download the Pocket Closet application to your iPhone or iPod. This wardrobe managing service makes it easy to review your clothes and accessories while you're out shopping, to help complete outfits.
