Fix A Sliding Glass Door That Sticks And Is Hard To Close

Sliding glass doors often lead to a porch or deck.


Sliding glass doors are a traditional feature in most modern homes. It is typically used as an entryway to the backyard deck area. This feature is beneficial because it makes it easy for your friends and family to access the outdoors while still maintaining comfort and privacy. One problem with sliding glass doors is that they can sometimes stick or be hard to open and close. Improper function of the rollers is the most typical reason for a sticky door. Instructions


1. Locate the rollers at the bottom of the door.


2. Place a flathead screwdriver underneath each roller and push up. This will pry the roller loose from its pocket.


3. Check out the roller. Make sure there are no dents, rips or bends. If so, then that could be the reason the door was sticking. You'll need to replace the damaged rollers.


4. Thoroughly clean the wheels of the sliding doors using a clean rag and denatured alcohol.


5. Spray the wheels with a lubricating silicone spray before reassembling.


6. Place the rollers' screws in line with the access holes. Use a hammer to gently tap them back into place. Be careful not to damage the wheels of the sliding doors.
