Clean Sticky Closetmaid Wire Shelving

Remove sticky residue from the wire shelving with a cleaning rag.

ClosetMaid wire shelving in your pantry can end up sticky from spilled jam or juice and little fingers reaching for treats. The plastic-coated, open-grid wire shelving is designed for easy cleaning. A cleaning routine that gets rid of the sticky buildup without damaging the shelves is easy to implement. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove loose dust with the hose attachment of a vacuum cleaner or brush the dust off the shelves with a small broom.

2. Mix 2 cups water, 1/2 tsp. dish soap and 1 tsp. white vinegar in a spray bottle.

3. Spray a mist of the cleaner onto the shelving and wipe off with a cleaning rag. Wipe down each wire, from the top and bottom.

4. Continue until all buildup is removed, let the shelving air dry and place your items back on the shelf. If the items themselves need cleaned, wipe down with the same cleaning spray. The vinegar is a versatile disinfectant and deodorizer while the dish soap assists in the cleaning process.
